Over 150 Sex Workers Vaccinated for MonkeyPox at PASS Summer Clinics

Thanks to an innovative collaboration with the LA LGBT Center, Performer Availability and Screening Services (PASS) was able to secure vaccinations for over 150 sex workers in Southern California this summer. During August and September, PASS ran two sex-worker specific events in LA, securing vaccines and launching clinics at a time when many sex workers excluded from vaccination criteria.

PASS’s push to have public health department open vaccination to sex workers was featured in Rolling Stone, the LA Times and on NPR

“As an industry, we need to be thinking of performer health holistically, not just whether or not someone has tested ‘clear’ in the database,” said Ian O'Brien, Executive Director for PASS. “I’m incredibly proud of the team at PASS, and incredibly thankful to PASS Board Member Jamey Bell and the LA LGBT Center for working so hard to make this happen.”
