PASS Volunteer Medical Advisory Board

PASS’s Medical Advisory Board is composed of volunteer public and sexual health practitioners, researchers, and adult industry workers. The board meets quarterly to discuss current health and safety issues, and works collectively to create policies and procedures that best serve the industry. The board’s work primarily focuses on STIs and other infectious disease work clearance, however, it may include additional population health needs as they are identified, as well as emerging threats including, but not limited to COVID-19, Mpox, and Mycoplasma genitalium.

How Decisions Are Made

The goal of the PASS Medical Advisory Board is to establish policies and procedures based on consensus decision-making. Members of the board must have experience working with marginalized populations. The industry has specific needs in regard to testing, vaccinations, and work standards. The industry is made up of a highly screened population that operates differently than the general population; this includes the types of tests the industry is expected to use, and the frequency at which they should be tested. The board is dedicated to upholding ethical principles to maintain and improve health and safety standards, while at the same time working to ensure that talent can work with as few issues as possible.
